2nd Grade - Second grade wrapped up their Marble Maze stem challenge by testing their mazes. Each group was tasked with designing and then building a maze using cardboard and straws. On testing day, the students needed to move their marble through the maze by blowing air through a straw to move their marble!

2nd Grade - The Great Wall of China - As a part of their Core Knowledge China unit, students build their own Great Wall China in Mr. Dunbar's Makerspace.  The wall included some of the famous watchtowers and guards.

3rd Grade - Native American Day - It was a wonderful day for third-grade students.  We celebrated Native American Day by performing three plays for the parents.  We then moved through centers which included making Navajo fry bread, beading, and designing feathered headdresses.

6th Grade - Science and Technology - Mars Rover building!

7th Grade Social Studies -  Last week, 7th graders took a journey back to the Roaring Twenties to invest in the stock market. They bought and sold stocks throughout the 1920s and experienced the ill effects of Black Tuesday.  It was a lesson full of emotions which ended in devastation.

8th grade took on the challenge of working together as a group (with very little direction from Mrs. Johnson) to discuss migrant workers’ issues and how to enact change based on collective inequities. This was surrounding the Core Knowledge topic of Cesar Chavez. They came together and made kind, quality, thoughtful decisions based on historical evidence.

8th Grade Language Arts - We had our book party!  Eighth graders delivered the books they wrote to the kinders.  Each kindergartener received their own copy to take home too!  We read the stories to them and received thank you cards from the Kinders.  We loved this project!
