About Me

About Mrs. Wellman

Simply put, I am a social worker turned teacher. I have always worked with children. As a social worker I worked in foster care with girls 7-14 along with outreach programs that dealt with awareness of bullying and eating disorders. Finally, I worked as a clinician in a treatment facility.
After moving to Colorado I became very involved in our local school. I was employed as a paraprofessional, then decided to get my substitute license, and from there went back to school to get my masters in elementary education with a focus on math.  I am also trained in the Orton-Gillingham Literacy Approach through Kendore Learning Center.
I am grateful to live right here in Evergreen. I love bumping into my students, past and present, in town or at the grocery store. I have 3 children. My oldest lives in Germany while she finishes her Master's degree. My oldest son lives in Denver. He has a small business and designs websites and apps. My youngest son is in 7th grade. My wonderful husband also works at RMAE. You may bump into me on one of our great trails because I love running and hiking.
