4th Grade -  Students worked on a "blind" chemistry experiment, meaning I did not give them much information about what they were doing.  They then made predictions, took notes and made observations.  It took about a week for them to figure out the results of their experiment which turned out to be rock candy.  The rest is history!

Elk Run VisitMiddle School Visit to Elk Run - Tuesday after school, 7th and 8th-grade students were invited to Elk Run Assisted Living to hear stories from residents about their experiences during the Civil Rights Movement.  Residents highlighted their memories of MLK's "I Have a Dream" speech and reflected on the facts of the Movement. This was a wonderful opportunity to have the students learn from primary sources in our community, to supplement the Core Knowledge Curriculum on the Civil Rights Movement, and to begin to reflect on MLK Day which we honor on January 21st.
