A Message from the Principal

Dear RMAE families,

More good news to share!  The passing of the 5B bond initiative is making a big difference at our school.  We have been working hard so that you will see many upgrades come August.

First, we are investing in numerous security upgrades.  Providing a safe and secure environment for our school community is of utmost importance.  Since this standard constantly changes, we engaged the CO Dept. of Homeland Security to provide a current assessment of our facilities.  We received high marks for safety, along with recommendations for improvements.  We will be implementing those improvements this summer.  Some of the projects include the installation of video surveillance, upgrading building access, replacing exterior doors, upgrading our PA system and upgrading our fire alarm system.

Second, 5B has enabled us to restructure our debt, allowing us to realize over $5M in savings over the term of the Bond.  This will secure the financial future of the school so that generations of students can benefit from an RMAE education.

The Facilities Committee continues to work on numerous additional pending projects.  It’s an exciting time to be able to shape the future of our facility and to provide the best possible learning environment for our students.

Thank you for your support of 5B and of RMAE!

Your Proud Principal,

Dr. Ann Hudson
