A Message from the Principal

Dear RMAE families,

It’s the one-week countdown!  We are all excited for the start of this year.  Please read through the whole newsletter as there are many pertinent items relating to the start of school.

Your partnership and support are key elements to ensuring that we are able to provide a safe environment for everyone while maximizing each student’s educational and personal development.  This year must look and feel a bit different given the guidelines we must follow.  There are actions you can take to help support your child(ren).

  • Please do not send your child(ren) to school if they are not feeling well or have a fever.  The Colorado Department of Public Health & Environment has provided an at-home screening guide for your reference.
  • Students will not have access to cubbies or lockers.  It is important for students to contain their materials in a backpack.
  •  Students need to have their own supplies.  To help support your child(ren) in keeping track of their supplies such as colored pencils, markers, glue stick etc. please have them store these items in a pencil case or bag.  This will be kept at school in their personal area.
  • Snack time is a part of our daily routine.  Healthy snacks need to be labeled and bagged if they are not self-contained in store bought packaging.
  • All students must bring their own lunch labeled with their name.  Since lunch will not be in the cafeteria, students will not have access to a microwave.  Please take this into consideration when planning the lunch meal.
  • Accidents happen.  To avoid an extra trip to school for you, we are asking students to bring in a second mask in a clear baggie labeled with their name. Their teacher will keep it in a secure area in the classroom.
  • There is no access to water fountains.  However, thanks to the support of our wonderful PTO, we now have water filling stations in each building.  Each student needs to bring their own water bottle labeled with their name.

With everyone’s collaboration we will have a safe, healthy, and successful school year.  I am very fortunate to be a part of such an amazing community.  Thank you for all you do to support your student(s) and RMAE.

Your Proud Principal,

Dr. Ann Hudson
