Flexride Customers Due to COVID-19, RTD has been operating a reduced service level since April and will continue to do so through the remainder of 2020. With this service reduction and the continued need to practice social distancing on public transportation, RTD will not be providing school service as in past years. There will be no scheduled school trips for the fall 2020 school year.

Reservations are required to book school trips with FlexRide. RTD books rides on a first-come, first-served basis through the RTD website or a FlexRide operator. If any parents have any questions or concerns please direct them to 1(303) 299-6000.

Board Meeting Summary

The Board of Directors would like to welcome everyone back to the academic year and let all families know what we’re up to.  The Board once again held its August meeting virtually.  First up, we appointed and swore-in our two new members to complete one year each of two unfinished terms.  Congratulations to Kate O’Rourke and Omar Suner, and thank you for your service to our school.

We are thrilled to report that RMAE ended Fiscal Year 2020 positively, including some ability to utilize those funds for COVID expenses that were not covered by grants.  We look forward to diving into a financially healthy FY 2021, which began July 1.  The Principal’s Report highlighted the incredible work that went into RMAE’s impressive in-person and remote learning plans, as well as the continued improvement to our facilities.

The Board proceeded to vote on a few changes to our Family Handbook that reflect this year’s unique learning environment.  We appreciate everyone getting familiar with this and signing their acknowledgements once these are distributed.

We encourage families to get familiar with the many ways you can get involved.  Please consider contributing your time to one of the below committees, which each advise the Board in their area of focus.  And yes, your involvement counts toward your 60 hours of support!  Sign up and we will be in touch.

·       School Accountability

·       Finance (budget)

·       Facilities

·       Marketing

·       Capital Development (fundraising, including Annual Giving)

·       Policy & Bylaws

·       Technology, Safety, & Security

We wish everyone a great year and hope to see you at our next virtual meeting September 10!
