Dear RMAE Families

Due to the alarming increase in COVID-19 cases within our county, on November 4 Colorado Department of Public Health and Environment alerted Jefferson County Public Health (JCPH) that effective today, November 9 at 5 p.m., they will be moving Jefferson County to a Level Orange (Level 3) on the Dial Framework.

As of right now, we have not received information from JCPH that a change in our current Learning Model is necessary.  We will continue with our current plan of in-person with remote option as long as possible.   For the safety of our students and community JCPH may deem it necessary to move to a 100% Remote Learning Model.  If this becomes reality, we are ready! If this happens, we will send additional information.

In each grade’s Google Classroom under the classwork tab is a weekly remote learning plan.  Please refer to this plan for times and links for live instruction as well as assignments.  If your student is unable to view the instruction live, it will be recorded and posted to the Google Classroom within 24 hours.  Since this is a process we’ve had in place since the beginning of the year and pivoting to 100% remote is required, we will transition into it seamlessly.

I know that no matter what learning model we implement; our staff will continue to work incredibly hard to provide students with the support they need. If you have any questions, please reach out to your child’s teacher.

Your Proud Principal,

Dr. Ann Hudson

Important Updates and Information

Cold Weather Gear- Please ensure that your student(s) have the appropriate cold weather gear for these cold and snowy days. We have outdoor recess and PE unless the temperature/windchill is below 20 degrees. On cold days student(s) will need a warm coat, hat, gloves, boots and snow pants.

Inside Screening- Moving forward, we will now conduct inside screening for morning drop off, as the infrared thermometers do not like the colder temperatures outside. Please remember to pull all the way forward in the circle to drop off your students in order to keep the line moving as efficiently as possible.

Missing Prescription Glasses? We have two pairs of kids prescription glasses in the office, if your student is missing a pair please call the office to claim. 303-670-1070.

Artsonia- Students in grades 5-8 have an account on Artsonia. It is the school's online art gallery. They will also have their own portfolio on Artsonia. We will be adding artwork throughout their years at RMAE. Only first names appear on Artsonia for privacy issues.  If your student has not already had an account on Artsonia at RMAE and been given permission, you should receive an email from Artsonia asking for permission to include your student's art. If you have any questions please contact Brinda Pumphrey.

November Core Virtues: Gratitude and Wonder

Gratitude is thankfulness for the gift of life and the gifts in life.

Wonder is to marvel at mystery and stand in awe before the unexplained.
