A Message from the Principal

Dear RMAE families,
I can’t believe we are starting our 4th week.  The saying that time flies when you are having fun is very applicable!  We have enjoyed getting to know your children.  It confirms what we already knew – RMAE has the best students thanks to our amazing families.

We appreciate your patience with pickup.  On several occasions last week, the app went down or did not operate fully.  As a result, we were calling students one at a time.  We’ve been in contact with the company and hope this week will run smoothly.

We look forward to seeing you at our virtual Back to School Night on Wednesday, Sept. 16th.  You will have an opportunity to learn about the core and special classes as well as experience firsthand our staffs’ positive energy, dedication, and nurturing approach in supporting all students.  Our remote family back to school is at 5:00pm and in-person families will join at 6:00.  The zoom links were sent in the class newsletter on Friday and will be sent to each grade level via school messenger on Wednesday.

Your Proud Principal,
Dr. Ann Hudson

ACT NOW for FREE WiFi & Data--T-Mobile, as part of its Project 10Million, will provide up to 34,000 low-income student households in Colorado with a free WiFi hotspot and 100GB of data per year for free.  The deadline to participate in the program is SEPT 17th.  Please contact Deb Kelley at dkelley@rmae.org if you are interested in applying.

Giving Apple-  Each fall, the PTO coordinates a campaign for the staff that allows them to ask for items for their learning spaces that are outside of traditional classroom budgets.  In past years, families have been able to make some truly extraordinary contributions to their child's educational experience, including but not limited to-butterfly larva, alternative classroom seating, colorful room decor, numerous library additions, density testers and go motion sensors, a full set of ukuleles and even a desktop 3D printer!  Staff have been submitting their requests and they will be compiled in a live document sign up format and sent to families electronically.  Watch for links in our weekly "Growl" and through teacher email updates soon.  Items range in price from $10-$100+ so there is an opportunity for everyone to contribute. Any questions should be directed to Bre Boyle at boylebundle@gmail.com, please do not submit questions to your teacher as some requests on their sign-up document may be from specials and office staff.

RMAE Board Update

Greetings from the BoD, RMAE Family!

The Board met on September 10 at 6:30PM. We were excited to hear in the Principal’s Report that students and teachers are adjusting to the new post-COVID learning world. The integration of online learning this past few weeks has not been without its speed bumps, but thanks to dedication of our teachers, Principal and Assistant Principal, and the hard work of our RMAE students, we are achieving great things, both in the traditional and remote classrooms. The Board voted to approve the Board Policy on Instructional Hours and Attendance, which accounts for the new CDE requirement around remote learning modalities. We’re excited to see the new ways in which remote learning allows us to expand the reach of the RMAE community! We also began making plans for the upcoming annual giving campaign as well as various committees that will provide parents, staff, and family members the opportunity to get involved in new ways with RMAE and contribute their various talents to our school. Some areas where we are looking for volunteers are in Marketing, Finance and Giving, Facilities, Technology, just to name a few. Be on the lookout for more information about these and other volunteer opportunities in the coming weeks!

Please remember to sign up for a Committee-  The Board of Directors needs your inputs and experience in one of these areas:Sign up
